Amritpal Mund’s Plan

3 Priorities for Abbotsford Schools

Strong Education & Real Opportunities

Strengthen core academics while expanding opportunities in trades, technology, vocational training, and career education through partnerships with UFV, local employers, and the community.

Safe Schools, Strong Families & Student Well-Being

Take stronger action against bullying, drugs, and gang recruitment while expanding mental-health support, sports, music, and after-school activities that keep youth safe, active, supported, and engaged.

Accountable Leadership & Responsible Spending

Put more education dollars into classrooms, programs, students, and frontline educators while improving long-term planning and working with the City and provincial government to meet Abbotsford's growing needs.

SAFE SCHOOLS. STRONGER YOUTH.

Every Student Deserves to Feel Safe & Supported

Student safety is about more than what happens inside the classroom. Amritpal wants Abbotsford schools to take a stronger, practical approach to bullying, drugs, gang recruitment, mental health, and keeping young people positively engaged.

Stop Bullying

Strong, clear anti-bullying policies focused on protecting students and creating respectful schools.

Keep Youth Away From Drugs & Gangs

Strengthen prevention, education, mentorship, and community partnerships that help keep young people on the right path.

Sports, Music & Activities

Expand opportunities for sports, athletics, music, recreation, and after-school activities that keep students active and connected.

Mental Health Support

Advocate for accessible professional support for students struggling with anxiety, depression, isolation, and other challenges.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ABBOTSFORD YOUTH

Making Better Use of Our Schools

Schools are an important part of our community. Amritpal will advocate for greater access to school gyms, fields, and appropriate facilities outside school hours, creating more opportunities for youth recreation, sports, and community programs.

Where appropriate, community use can also generate additional revenue that can be reinvested into local schools and student programs.

TRANSPARENCY & PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Parents Deserve to Be Heard

Parents should have a meaningful voice in their children’s education, and students and educators should have opportunities to be heard by the people making decisions.

Amritpal will advocate for greater transparency and more accessible School Board meetings, including opportunities for parents, students, and frontline educators to speak directly to the Board and share their concerns and ideas.

Listen. Communicate. Be accountable.

ACCOUNTABILITY FOR EVERY EDUCATION DOLLAR

More Resources Where They Matter Most

Responsible leadership means making thoughtful decisions about how public education dollars are spent.

As Abbotsford continues to grow, Amritpal will advocate for responsible budgeting, better long-term planning, and stronger coordination with the City and provincial government, with a clear priority: directing resources toward students, classrooms, programs, facilities, and frontline educators.
